This issues begins with a
few notes from the editor (Ray Whitehead) addressing the issue’s theme of
values in China and the West and relates some plans of the CCP for the upcoming
year. It includes the report “Missionaries in China,” which recounts the state
of missionizing in China during the Qing dynasty. It also gives news and lists
magazines that deal with developments in China. It features Carman St. J.
Hunter’s report “Encounter with China” (originally published in The Witness
Magazine), which recounts the radical societal changes that have been enacted
since the revolution, but acknowledges the mythos that surrounds these changes
as well.
