CAWG Currents 20.1 (1998)

This issue contains the submission for the 54th session of the UN Commission on Human Right. It includes a general overview of the state of human rights in Asia and the response and role of the international community with recommendations. It gives reports on Burma, Indonesia and East Timor, and Sri Lanka, focusing on arrests and detention, the restriction of freedoms, extra-judicial killings, torture, judicial corruption, displacements, censorship, war and conflict, and violations of workers’ rights.
