CAWG Currents 07-01-1991

This issue contain short human rights reports on Bangladesh, Burma, Indonesia and East Timor, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand. It also covers issues of the World Bank and developing world debt. It reports on natural disasters, reconstruction, and development in Bangladesh, and includes an account from an Indonesian torture victim. The issue also examine South Korean issues of student unrest, elections, national security laws, and reunifications, concluding with recommendations. For the Philippines, it reports on political and economic development, sectorial concerns, and human rights violations and gives suggestions; it also includes a Declaration by the Congress for a People’s Agrarian Reform.
