This issue is titled
“Conversations with KH Ting – Part 1.” It begins by transcribing a sermon
delivered by KH Ting in November, 1979, at Timothy Eaton Memorial United Church
called “Give Ye Them to Eat.” It also contains an article by Ting, titled
“Facing the Future or Restoring the Past,” which explores the experiment of the
Church in China in terms of its place in New China. It also provides excerpts
of articles on the reopening or renovation of churches and temples, taken from
CCA News and the Toronto Globe and Mail. The articles also deal with the
disregard of Chinese Catholics for Rome. The issue lists resources and
materials available on KH Ting and his work and provides a report on his visit
to Canada. It also transcribes an undelivered sermon by Ting under the title “A
Chinese Christian’s Appreciation of the Atheist,” in which he categorizes
atheists and reviews the positive work and accomplishments of atheism in China.
