This issue contains the contents
of the CAWG submission for the 48th session of the UN Commission on
Human Rights. It begins with introductory remarks on human rights issues and
developments in Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore,
and Taiwan. Longer reports are given for Indonesia and East Timor, South Korea,
the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. These reports deal with incidents of arrests
and detention, torture, executions and disappearances, restrictions of freedoms,
labour and peasant movements, minority rights, displacements and massacres, and
political developments. For each, suggestions are given.
