In this issue,
CAWG includes the response of the Asia Pacific Women’s Action Network to the
Jakarta Declaration. It also includes a report of the visit of Reverend Arlindo
Marcal of the Christian Church in East Timor to Canadian churches. There are
also small reports on the condition of human rights in Bangladesh, Burma,
Indonesia and East Timor, Japan, Korea, the Philippines and Sri Lanka with
recommendations. The entire issue examines the role of Canadian foreign policy
and urges that the government take stronger action on human rights issues.
