CCP China & Ourselves 11

This issue begins with a few words from the editor which summarizes its contents and gives an account of CCP activities. It includes small vignettes on news and developments with China and the Church there. It also provides a report by Shirley Endicott Small, based on a talk given at the China Colloquy in May of that year, titled “The Chinese Approach to Crime: Ideology and Practice.” The report is extensive and reviews crime prevention programs, reforms to the justice system and the penal system. It also includes a report “Does China Need Christianity? A Reflection on China 1977” by Dr. Ted Paterson that recounts a recent trip to China and explores the place of Christianity in China. The issue concludes with a review of China questions compiled by the BC branch of the CCP; these questions are about China and the relation of Western Christians to China.
