CAWG Currents 13.1 (1991)

In this issue, short reports are provided on the human rights situations in Bangladesh, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia and East Timor, Philippines, Myanmar and Canadian interests in these countries. For East Timor, it covers arrests and detention, torture, executions and disappearances, restrictions of freedoms, and violations of religious and cultural rights. Regarding Indonesia, it examines incidences of arrests and detention, restrictions of freedoms and rights, and human rights violations in the Irian Jaya region. For South Korea, it reports on violations of the right to privacy and political prisoners. Similar reports are featured for Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.
