CAWG Currents 19.1 (1997)

This issues is comprised of the submission for the 53rd session of the UN Commission on Human Rights. It includes reports on human rights conditions and violations, as well as the foreign policy position of Canada, for Burma, Indonesia and East Timor and Sri Lanka with recommendations for each. The reports examine issues of arrests and torture, extra-judicial killings, refugees, and transmigration. The issue also includes a conference statement on migrant workers and a statement on the role of churches in solidarity with uprooted peoples.
