In this issue, a short report is
given on the Chittagong Hill tracts and the national state of emergency in
Bangladesh with recommendations. It reports on violations of freedom of
association and expression, arbitrary arrest and detention, torture,
restrictions of civil rights and genocide in Indonesia and East Timor, giving
recommendations. It also contains short reports on human rights in Japan, the
Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
