This issue opens with the
remarks from the editor on the recent activities and developments of the CCP.
It includes a section on news, including a very brief report on the Montreal
China Conference of November 11th, which brought together delegates
from 15 China friendship society. It also features an article by E.H. Johnson,
titled “China without Zhou and Mao”, which explores the future of the PRC
without these two leaders. A brief report on a Chinese newspaper’s criticism of
religion is provided, but the article itself is not included. It include “The
Place of Religion in China” by Wee Chong Tan of Lester B. Pearson College, in
which the restriction on religion and the actions of Chinese Christians under
this system is analyzed. It concludes with a summary of resources available on
the subject of Chinese social and economic life.
