CAWG Currents 18.1 (1996)

This issue is CAWG’s submission for the 52nd session of the UN Commission on Human Rights. It reports extensively on the conditions of Indigenous Peoples in Asia, including violations of the rights of Indigenous Peoples, development aggression, and cultural heritage with recommendations. It also examines migrant workers and the escalating abuses and violence against them, as well as violations of the rights of female migrant workers, the right to due process, the situation of undocumented migrants, and the impunity enjoyed by human rights violators with recommendations. It also reports on the obstacles to the realization to the right to development and the rights of the child with recommendations. Finally, reports are given on human rights abuses and condition in Indonesia and East, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, giving recommendations for each.
